EverMy Thoughts:I think this is my favorite of the Halle Pumas series. Belle is a wonderful heroine she has been through rough times with the Pride but bounced back from that emotional hurt to be physically hurt while protecting the beta's mate. Her interactions with her mate's pack was great to see and her humor while putting the alpha female in her place has me crying I was laughing so hard. Dana Marie Bell writes snark wonderfully...and her characters jump off the pages. It was nice that the hero Rick wasn't drop dead gorgeous but had battle scars. The plot in this 4th installment of the series has more suspense and a slightly deeper plot then the previous books. I was thoroughly entertained and can't wait to read more about these marvelous charactersThis is a novella of under 100 pages and I don't give 5 star ratings to novella's or short stories as I feel there is not enough pages to be able to grow the world, the plot and grow the characters. So this rating is really out of 4 stars. 4 Shiny stars for this fun, snarky, suspenseful, overall entertaining read. Pick up this book ..you won't be sorry. This series is short stories. As a rule I love shorts, but this story I felt could have benefited by a full length presentation. There were a couple sub plots left unfinished, and a lot of back story I would have liked to have been included. (Ben and Dave, and Chela's) Even the main couples story felt incomplete to me, all the elements were there. I loved Belle and Richard and would have liked to let their personalities come out a little more fully.But, it was still a good story.
