About book The Education Of Sebastian & The Education Of Caroline (2000)
If you believe in true love, this will be the greatest story you have ever read. I don't know how to put into words how much this book moved me but I can't stop thinking about Sebastian and Caro. I even bought this book for a dear friend so that she would read it and love it as much as I did. I cried tears of sorrow and I cried tears of happiness throughout their story. Just a beautifully written book in every sense; I could feel the characters, I could see where they were traveling, I understood all of their emotions. I am so happy I purchased the combined stories with the bonus chapters. I just can't get enough of Caro and Sebastian and the bonus chapters were an unexpected delight. HOT HOLY DAMNED! I have never read quite a love story like this. It blew me away.Sebastian and Caroline meet when he is 8 and she is 21. She leaves and comes back 9 years later as she is a military wife and Sebastian's father is military. She got married at 19 to a verbally abuse man and is not happy in her marriage. And holy guacamole, Batman - HOW SEBASTIAN HAS GROWN.He's 17 years old and gorgeous to the bone. She's now 30. They run into each other on the beach when she returns. Caroline feels the attraction. Who wouldn't? But she didn't know he was 17, only to become 18 in 4 more months. She thought he was already 18.Sebastian experienced his first time with her and their love was like no other. How did a 17 year old KNOW about these feelings? Well, he just did. He knew she was the end all for him, even at 17. He had loved Caroline his whole life and knew it had always ever been her. In the first book he had some "grown up" moments and in some instances he's completely immature, thinking if they just "run away" everything will be okay, which is a child-like mentally. He's also very emotional. His father is abusing him at home physically and he just wants out. She is the only thing that holds him together. But Caroline is 30 and more realistic. She knows if they are ever found out she could be in serious trouble. But then they ARE found out and Seb's father threatens to call the police if she doesn't leave for at least 3 years and she does. She has to. Seb is devastated but he KNOWS she will come back for him when he's 21. She has to. But she never does. I thinks she feels Sebastian felt more lust than love that summer. But how wrong she is. He is about to go crazy looking for her.In the 2nd book 10 more years pass. She's become a renowned journalist and is in Geneva waiting for instructions with other journalists to go over to Afghan when guess who walks up to the podium? Chief Sebastian Hunter. He's 27 now, just as gorgeous. She's 40 and cannot believe her eyes. He had enlisted at 18.Their time together spent overseas was very enjoyable to me. You could tell they were always meant to be together, that it wasn't some fluke - that this was true love. They had to overcome a tragic accident but they still clung to one another. "It's always ever been you, Caro." He never gave up but I understand how he felt she did. But I know Caroline felt she was doing it for his best interest, walking away. She felt she was too old and the relationship was wrong and he would be better off, even though she loved him just as much, her "tesoro".These books were soooo good. I could not put them down. It proves that if you are meant to be together nothing will stop it from happening. It also proves that age is just a number when it comes to love. Bravo, Ms. Harvey-Berrick!
