I had to DNF this one. I could not connect. I love and I mean love books about childhood friends who later get together as adults, but this one...I could have done without Miles' POV. From the beginning he was talking about, what felt like, every girl being hot or attractive but never his BFF, Clare, who will and does everything for him. When anything did happen it felt, to me, like he settled. Too little too late. It just felt forced like Miles thinking "well you really help me with my issues in this LA world, so lets get together." The story should have stuck to one POV - Clare's. Clare was so likable but after while I thought doormat to Miles. She loves and has loved Miles all her life and Miles...well I felt Miles was selfish and he sure comments about other women... I loved The Education of Caroline and Sebastian series. Loved. But honestly if I read this book first, I would have never picked up another book by Jane Harvey-Berrick. This one was not for me. 3.5 stars - This was a surprise. I didn't know much about the book going into it. It took a while for the humor to grow on me. The writing was witty, fresh.... The story had a Hugh Grant film kinda feel to it. I liked both Miles and Clare but Clare took a bit of warming up to. In the end I found her to be one of the most refreshing females written in a while. I had five male friends growing up so I could relate to her. I found her devotion to Miles wonderful.
