About book Infinity Ring Book 1: A Mutiny In Time (2012)
James Dashner is a great story teller and I love to read his action sequences. This is a good adventure time-travel trilogy similar to the 13th Reality series. Dak and his friend Sera have Dak's parents infinity ring and they travel back in time to stop the SQ--a nefarious organization that runs everything. This first book involves Christopher Columbus and it reads like an obvious choice for school teachers since it teaches history in an intriguing way. Overall it wasn't as compelling for me as the Maze Runner, but it is meant for younger readers. Dak and Sera have been childhood friends for their whole life. Dak is brilliant when it comes to history and Sera is brilliant when it comes to science, they are both geniuses in their own right. When Dak shows Sera what his parents have been working on in their lab, Sera ends up helping to build a time travel device. The two of them are recruited by an organization called the hystorians and are charged with helping right history from the wrong course it has taken. While Dak looks for his parents who were lost in time.I thought this book was pretty entertaining. The dialogue between Dak and Sera and some of the other characters of the book is very interesting. I liked the authors idea to have history be twisted and need to be fixed. I was engaged through the whole book. The parts of history chosen by the author so far has been entertaining as well. There is nothing to be aware of in this book>
