About book Infinity Ring Book 3: The Trap Door (2013)
Summary (*SPOILER ALERT*):Dak, Sera & Riq are time travelers, or Hystorians, that are time traveling to different eras to fix historical events that never should've happened. In this book, they are are in the 1800's to help the slaves and abolitionists win the war against slavery and stop slavery. But Riq accidentally meets his ancestors who are slaves being abused, and now Riq is determined to help his ancestors escape and give them freedom. So Riq has no choice but to split up with Dak and Sera, who are going to continue trying to stop slavery, and promise to meet again someday. But then they all get captured, and the three slowly begin to understand why the abolitionists are failing to stop slavery...This book, with a theme of trust (with spies everywhere and not knowing who to trust), hope (to help save Riq's family and stop slavery), and family love (Riq's ancestors), this book is sure to get you interested, although I recommend reading the first book in the series, "A Mutiny in Time", first. What if the Civil War lasted for 15 years? What if the Underground Railroad was nothing more than a footnote in history? This is the world that Riq, Dak, and Sera must save us from as they travel back in time to 1850. As they fight to correct history, we also learn more about Riq and his own family stories, and why this mission is vital not just to the world as a whole, but to him personally. The third book in the Infinity Ring keeps the series going strong. A must read for historical fiction, as well as science fiction, fans. Recommended for grades 4-8.
