I picked up this series of three books (Bink &Gollie, Bink & Gollie: two for one, Bink & Gollie: best friends forever) after reading Gina's rave review. I was wondering whether they would be something I could read to my 3.5 year old daughter and was pleased to find that, although I suspect some of it goes over her head, she loves them. I love the artwork - the drawings are primarily black and white with the characters in color and other splashes of color to draw your attention to specific things. The writing is often funny and often moving. My favorite story (each book has three shorter stories) is in Bink & Gollie: two for one and involves a talent show, stage fright, and friendship at its sweetest and truest. These are great books and I hope there will be more! This time, Bink and Gollie are off to the state fair, willing to try their luck at the whack-a-duck and talent show. Disappointed with the results, but not about to call it quits, they turn to the outskirts of the fairgrounds. A mystic visit with Madame Prunely, the fortune-teller, brings them just the words they need to hear.I love the emphasis on friendship in these books. I'm sure that the themes of loyalty here are not lost on the little listening ears at my house. Plus, it is comic strip cuteness at its best. The dialogue and illustrations equally share the spotlight. I hope the entertaining Bink and Gollie books keep coming! Me and my little guys really enjoy them.

Great for friendship and good to use for Tier 2 Vocabulary for primary learners.

I like the way Gollie talks, but I like Bink more as a character.

I liked the illustrations better than the story.
