I love this series of books SO much. They have a little bigger print, they have lots of pictures, but most importantly, they are genuinely funny and somewhat unpredictable. They actually have a funny, simple plot unlike most easy readers. They really motivate my daughter to read! I wish the author would write more; we flew through the first six books, and we are so sad there are no more Mercy books out (yet?). Though it seems to be a large chapter book, the large font type and big, bold illustrations throughout the book make this a very manageable book to read in one setting. The plot is silly, but very simple - a trip to the drive-in movies, with humorous results indeed. Our girls have enjoyed the "Mercy Watson" books we've read and I'm sure we'll pick up more at our local library. We've read this one a couple of times.
Do You like book Mercy Watson Au Cine-Parc (2009)?
DiCamillo rarely disappoints with the Mercy Watson series. I love pigs who love buttered toast.
