About book The Book Of Daniel (2011)

This is the 4th book in the ST Nacho's series. In this we gets Jake's brother Daniel's story. Daniel had come to ST Nacho's after handing divorce papers to his wife after discovering she was having an affair. Daniel who has always been protective of Jake, decides that since Jake is determine to live in ST Nacho's, he needs to give notice and get rest of his possessions from Los Angeles. While Jake is driving Daniel's Lexus back to ST Nacho's in the heavy fog they become part of a chain car crash that injures Daniel badly. Daniel's right hand is crushed but putting on the big brother stance, he manages to hide the injury from Jake and let the paramedics take him for treatment because he wants to stay with Daniel. JT attended to Jake, and Cam ( the muscular and hot fire fighter) was able to cut Dan out of his car. It's 4 months later and Daniel is enjoying his new found freedom by admitting yes he's gay ( he told Jake the reasons why he went into this marriage in Jacob's Ladder) and he loves being a player.Daniel has a home in ST Nacho's which he shares with Jake, but doesn't see the place as his brother and others do. Dan is a high powered realtor, who has his own business and sees nothing special in ST Nacho. Dan also has a teasing and flirting relationship with Cam. Soon this changes, Dan comes to realize Cam is more then he seems. I liked some of this book, but I hated the way those who were always ready to see the worse in Daniel. The man seem to lead with his heart, and yes money played in a role to help those he loved, but when he did that those he helped accused him of buying their love. Poor Dan, he seemed genuine to me, and I kept wondering when those he loved and helped would do the same for him. Seems like he was the one doing the giving and they gladly took what he gave and talked badly about him while doing so. Oh well, it was an ok read, but Daniel deserved better if ya ask me! Also, the one person who actually seem to give unselfishly to Dan, was the person you least expect. The story is bathed in golden light and seems to shimmer as if it's a Poem of Spring with soft breezes and butterflies on the wing. But the story isn't supposed to be like that, is it? It's supposed to be about a selfish player who has pretty much lied and bribed his way to the good life. At least that's what we're told. And yet, he's funny, he's in love or in lust, and his lusty-love is returned by a being of beauty and shining gold. Our guy Daniel and Cam, the truth-telling, gorgeous, wise, firefighter, are on a journey to make Daniel a better man. He'll be good enough for St. Nachos, for the people who live there and for a beautiful, loving commitment with the man of his dreams. It happens like that, and though I'm confused about Daniel being such a horrible person since he seemed about medium-obtuse, I guess he needs to be a gold-dusted before he can be worthy to live an idyllic future with the love of his life. It's possible Daniel was a crass and self-centered guy who desperately needed to grow up, but I sure feel that I read a love story with lots of great sex and sweet words and a golden future for all.

Do You like book The Book Of Daniel (2011)?

Daniel is a very complex character. Wish we knew more about Cam though.
