3.5 starsVery much a middle book. It can't be read as a stand alone & didn't grab me the way the first one did. The plot felt like a long road trip and just when all the players finally meet up (in Mexico!) the book ends with a mega cliffhanger. Grr. Still, I'm very interested in the 3 main characters and the ways in which they're colliding & changing. Plus Halle's action scenes are always very inventive, yet true to her character's abilities. Tattoo gun as torture device! And who knew non-dairy creamer was flammable?! Love details like that. This was a dnf for me. I didn't want to give it a one because I didn't think it was horrible it just wasn't for me. I feel like there was a book before it and this one picked up where it left off I didn't know who the people were or what the hell was happening. I give myself so many pages to get into a book and if it hasn't hooked me by then and it doesn't snag my attention I tap out so this is me tapping out.
HECK THIS WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN SINS & NEEDLES. MOTHER OF A THRILL RIDE. I NEED A BREAK
