I enjoyed the book but felt like the main character was trying too hard to prove something. That she could be a 'player' like lots of men? Or maybe that she didn't need or want anything but sex. Parts of the book felt like she was attempting to live out a fantasy but other parts were more hard, more mean almost. Not being familiar with the author I was surprised at the openly erotic nature of some of the seduction scenes. I probably would have appreciated this book more about 20 years ago when I was in my late 30's/early 40's and newly single again. I Love Megan Hart's writing style. The way she captures emotions and people, in all their flaws and yearning, is just amazing. She makes a case for sexually strong women who are also vulnerable and real. She may not write the "every-woman" but she writes women who you wish you had just a little bit of and simultaneously, women who you hope you never become, for one reason or another. That's the appeal of Hart for me. I really liked this story, it's not perfect, there isn't a neat and tidy happy ever after, but she leaves us with hope, and that I love.

As always, I love the way Megan Hart tells a story. One that is sexy and believable.
