i think I liked it because...* Sophie tries to make the right decision according to the majority and her dad and the Council. I mean, how many YA girls take that sort of consideration? I know it doesn't work but at least she tries really hard.* The super-twists. Yup. Not going to tell you about them. But it gets super twisty.* The realistic relationships. Though I wish that Sophie wouldn't blow off people so much.* Bad things happen to everyone. Realistically. I know that doesn't sound good... but at least nobody's a Black Hole Sue.some things that were meh* Cliffhanger ending. Wait a sec. * Sophie. You are sarcastic. I know.* For some reason I can't really distinguish Archer's personality from Nick's, say, or any other YA love interest.* Cal and Archer. Seriously? NO LOVE TRIANGLE PLEASE. I liked this book. I gave it 3 stars, while the first in the series received 4. I thought it was good and I still love the main characters but I just didn't feel like quite as much happened in this book. This book is not actually set at Hex Hall. After learning in the first book that her crush is a bad guy and she is actually a demon and not a witch, Sophie decides to spend some time with her dad in Britain to learn more about her powers and heritage. Jenna comes, too (yay.) Sophie discovers that someone is raising demons...and then everything in her life falls apart. I felt like the plot in this book was decent but the pacing was off. Too much happened at the end (cliffhanger!) and while I liked all the exposition and character development, I wanted more answers. I just felt like some of the important revelations were not fleshed out enough. I will see how the third book wraps things up!
