It was cute.I didn't like the heroine much though. She seemed... self-absorbed and judgmental. "All rich people are jerks" And oftentimes, she immediately jumps to conclusions, like when her prince charming doesn't go goo goo eyes at her she thinks bad of him. BUT granted that she is seventeen years old, maybe her actions are justified. haha. What I do like about her though is that she puts in effort for the things she wants, gathers up courage and asks for it. Like when she wanted to be an exercise rider, she went to the guy who makes decisions and told him that she wanted to be one (even when her dad discouraged her). She isn't afraid of moving beyond her comfort zone, and that is pretty awesome. When her father lands a job as the Groom at Cedar Hills, Savannah has to start anew. Her goal to become an exercise boy doesn't come without the approval of Jack Goodwin, the owner's son, who's in charge. Jack is way out of Savannah's league, they practically come from two different worlds, plus he's her boss but that doesn't stop her from falling for him.I really liked the horseracing backdrop to this book. I have no clue about horseracing and it intrigued me! It was a breath of fresh air from many contemporary novels which only really focus on the relationship. The thing I like about the Hundred Oaks series is that each one explores a very distinct character from the previous, facing different hardships. I also love the fact that the loveable main characters from previous books make endearing cameos!
