About book Plötzlich Fee - Frühlingsnacht (2012)

4.5Woah. This was great, not my favourite in the series but a close second definitely. I loved reading from Ash's POV and I loved that we were really reassured that he was in love with Meghan, even when Ariella (whom I loathed) came back into the picture.I did not like Ariella, I found her annoying tbh and when she kissed Ash oh man. I liked that she supported him in the end though, and helped him gain his soul. When Ash was doing his last test, seeing what his human life MAY be like I couldn't help but get all choked up. It broke my heart into a million pieces to see him feel weak and unworthy. I'm not sure what else to say about this apart from the fact that I love this series and I can't wait to read the next two books. OH! I also loved the progression of Ash and Puck's relationship as well, made me smile a whole lot. The Iron Knight is the third book in a trilogy written by Julie Kagawa. This book details Ash's quest to find a soul and be with the one he loves. Ash is the main character in the book who is a fairy. A fairy or fey is born from humans imagination and has powers that humans do not poses, such as glamour. Glamour is magic that keeps fairies alive and they can use it to do things like make an apple from a twig. All fey live in the one of three courts, Summer, Winter, or Iron that is in a different dimension from the human world. Ash is accompanied on the journey by his friend/enemy Puck, a Summer fairy who always likes to have a laugh. For a fairy to gain a soul they must go to a place called the "end of the world". They go through challenges that they must endure to gain a soul. Ash is trying to gain a soul because of Megan. Megan is Ash's half-fairy half-human girl friend, who is the ruler of the Realm of the Iron Court. Since Megan is the Queen, she has to stay in the Iron Court and make sure everyone is safe. The metal iron to all pure fey is lethal, which is why Ash cannot be with Megan. If Ash gains a soul, he will become human and become immune to the effects of iron on the fey. However, a soul comes with consequences of a conscience, mortality, and overpowering emotions. The Iron Knight is a fantastic book in which I will definitely read again! One of the reasons this book is so good is because of the writing style the author uses. In the book, Ash is the one that tells the story. In this perspective, you see the raw emotion and his decision making skills that contributes to the suspense of the story. With all the challenges he must endure, you see his quick thinking and the emotional strain he goes through. One specific example of this is when he and Puck are traipsing through a swamp and are confronted by a witch. Ash must make a decision to fight through her or run and hope she doesn't follow. The writing style of this book helps emphasize the importance of Ash's feelings in the story. When I read The Iron Knight, I felt it related to the book Twice Lost, because of the similar plot lines in each book. Both the books were the last in a series and had a mythical creatures in the story, in the Iron Knight fairies and in Twice Lost mermaids. In both books, the girls become a queen and can not pursue their forbidden love affair because they have duties to their subjects. Also, both the boys are determined to find a way to be with their girlfriends and set out on a journey to do so. Along the way, both Ash and Dorian, from Twice Lost, face hardships that they must conquer to succeed. The story lines in both books show the hardships of love and how to overcome it. To conclude, the Iron Knight is a FANTASTIC book with mystery and cliffhangers that make you never want to put the book down. The book started off at a somewhat slow pace but as you kept reading, picked up to a ferocious pace. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to escape into a world of fantasy when reading a book. With fantasy, mystery, and/or action this book will make almost anyone fall in love with it! Those are my feelings on the Iron Knight, read the book and see what you have to say!
