I have to say, I am being a little bit generous with the rating. The only reason why I am giving the book three stars is because there were certain scenes throughout the book (mainly, toward the end) that were actually well-written, and even pretty creepy.I had high expectations for the book, which is probably why it was unable to meet them. I love the supernatural and paranormal genres, and have been craving a good book that would scare me. If it can keep me up at night, my mission is accomplished. Possessions did not even come close to that. Yeah, parts of it were creepy, as I mentioned before. But I think I have seen episodes of Doctor Who that were freakier. (The creepiest part of the book was probably Mandy's obsessive incest, which I can easily overlook due to all the corruption I received by reading fanfiction.)Lindsay annoyed me half the time - in fact, I think I liked her a lot better when she went completely crazy. I just did not find her to be a great protagonist.Now, I hear that this is a series, but I don't really have a desire to read the next books, because I can only imagine them getting worse. Sometimes authors need to realize that making a series is not always going to make the story better. Possessions had a lot of potential, but I feel like the entire plot could have been made into one book, with a lot from the beginning cut out. Anyway, I was really excited to read the book when I ordered it, so that might be why it fell short of my expectations. It was kind of the worst horror I've ever read. Lindsay is so stupid, the popular girls are unrealistically rich and the whole plot line is so typical and predictable. It only difference the popular girls are possessed by some ghosts the mystery we never learn the extent of. At the end of the book Shes just Learns that the girls are possessed by ghosts and so is she and that she wants to get to the end of this. That was all obvious from like chapter three and I was rolling my eyes at how shallow she was or how stupid,self centered she was. Her best friend Julie was on the ground in pain and then she was too busy staring at Troy the hot guy of her dreams, who also happened to be the boyfriend of the leader of the evil rich girls,Mandy. Mandy was so rich that she asked for money for a haunted house and got 50 thousand dollars just like that, but she still thought that wasn't enough. Lindsay also happened to be haunted by her past because she had a nervous breakdown. This was because she saw her (ex) boyfriend and (ex) best friend having sex in her parents bedroom on the blanket she knitted for her mommy. The the funny thing is that while her mum died of cancer before that she was fine with that but her boyfriend and best friend having sex threw her over the edge? This is just the typical high school drama story with many plot holes underdeveloped characters who take so much for granted and it's just horrible, don't read it.

Its a little creepy so prepare yourself to be scared. Its really well crafted though. Worth reading.
