I enjoyed this installment, but I saw a lot of negative reviews for it so I was a bit weary going into it. A lot of people were complaining that this book was "too long" for the content and I can totally see that, but I definitely think listening to this series on audio would be preferred if that's the case! It's probably why I liked it a lot more than most people (although it wasn't perfect). I'm also turning into a Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant fangirl so... I might be a little biased ;) I'm pretty sure this book could have condensed and edited better. A little tighter control on the construction and a more even hand with the pacing and this book could have been reduced easily by fifty pages and become instantly more palatable. Still, I have to give the author props on the world and character building. These fairies feel unique, dangerous, and exciting. Let's hope the next book's writing is as great as its concepts.
A whole lot of nothing until the last third of the book. Then it got a lot better.

The mystery in this one kept me guessing right up to the end.
