Better than the first book of this series. Tristan is a great hero, and this book is incredibly heart-warming. It's a funny, charming love story centered around family and forgiveness. Tristan is a lover not a fighter at heart, making this a unique highlander tale, lacking the bloodlust of other novels in the genre. Very refreshing!! I had a few issues with the book, but they weren't major. Tristan smiles too much. It's his reaction to everything and may annoy readers. The other issue is the heroine. She was not my favorite. Some of her early treatment of Tristan was cruel. At times I couldn't understand why he continued to pursue her. On the other hand, her brothers were adorable, adding much humor, depth and charm. Also a fantastic narration by Carrington MacDuffie! I thought the second half of this book was much better than the first half. But the first half was needed to set up just why the feud happened and how it affected all those involved.I loved seeing Tristan fall for Isobel and watching her keep pushing him away, as that never happened to him. Tristan's welcome to the Ferguson's farm had me laughing, he sure didn't expect that and it only went downhill from there for Tristan. Things became interesting when all of the people started looking at the person instead of the person's clan.I was impressed by Cameron and his actions at the end. It had to be the hardest thing he ever did and I am sure he expected the worst when he did it, his willingness to sacrifice his future for his sister's made you love him. I loved the last quarter of the book, especially when the Laird entered the picture. His treatment of Thomas and Alex was great and just what was needed for them. I hope that we see more of them in the future.
