F*ing S...By the time this series ends (if that ever happens) I'll be reduced into a blubering emotional mess.I'd never thought it would be possible to like and feel so much for a couple like Chess and Terrible, but I simply can't avoid *the feels* when either of them admits that the other one is their reason to go on...Just please, please, please, make the next book to be as good as this...PS. And if you wouldn't mind dear Author, I would really like a lady friend for Lex so he doesn't feel bad anymore... I loved this book. Although Chessie is still having self doubts there can be no doubts whatsoever about her love for Terrible and his absolute adoration of her in return. I sometimes felt that the books were a bit long drawn out, then surprised myself with how quickly I was getting through them! I think its because I'm wanting to get to the intense interaction between these two characters. When I read the prequel to the Downside Ghosts series I wondered what I was letting myself in for but was advised to carry on with the rest...I'm so glad I did! We're often wondering if "Chessiebomb" (as Terrible sometimes calls her ;))can do her thing this time and overcome the evil that she's been taught by the Church to fight...in this she needs not just the help of the strong fighter/enforcer, she has come to love, but even his enemies too! Once you get used to the speech patterns and this whole different world, where ghosts are fearsome dangerous opponents, these books are easy reads filled with action. Warning though..they contain a lot of gore and drug taking is uppermost in Chessie's life!
Do You like book Chasing Magic (2012)?
I would have given it more stars but Chess's pity party really got on my nerves.
