This was so much fun to read. I haven't read many books with demons in them so I can't say if this is typical fair in a demon story but it was dark, creepy, gory with lots of demon politics playing out and was still as sexy as hell. The story continues from the last but we find Meg wrestling with her demons from the past and her new ones in the present and trying to come to some resolution with the two. This whole process is played out with such thought and feeling that I didn't expect. Throw in some great characters, some humour, some blood and guts, a demonic blood ritual, a great car chase, some apple pie eating, a zombie fight and a spot of dress shopping and you have one great story. My only complaint is I would have loved more of the humourous scenes that were in the last book with the three brothers that are Graysons' guards. This was much more awesome that the prior book, it was bloody and full of demons. The end was over a bit anti-climatically after the bad girl demon was such a bad ass earlier. I had some issues with the formatting, perhaps cause I read a crappy eBook version since I couldn't find my paperback copy. But I've since started the third and have noticed the same there. There are no page breaks or dashes to indicate difference in time. Big chunks of time. Stuff happens in 1 paragraph, someone goes to sleep... then in the next they are going to the mall with Tara.
