More of a 3.5 for me. I liked the premise of the story, a young man is blackmailed into becoming a prostitute for a female run ladies only brothel. I've never read a story with a hero like that. I think I got lost and started to lose steam around the middle, not a whole lot happens. It's a lot of back and forth pity party, reasons why they can't be with one another, renounces, etc. The last quarter was good because we finally learn why the hero is being blackmailed, both characters actually do something about their love and all is well. I liked Grace, the heroine, she's rather gutsy, she goes after what she wants both verbally and literally. The premise for the second in the series seems promising - one of the hero's fellow co-workers is loaned out for a week. Dun dun dun. 5***** This book was certainly different. Set in the early Victorian era. The "hero" of the story is a man trapped since his early teens in a brothel where the men service the wealthy ladies. The heroine is a woman who is struggling to make ends meet. With a sick mother, teenage sister and a wastrel step brother who is gambling away everything. They are both in need of rescue. If you want to find out who rescues whom you will have to read it. Its well worth it.
