I loved this book. If you LIKED 50 Shades of Grey or Crossfire series you will enjoy this. this male lead is damaged, yes. comparing to 50 you have to open your mind and heart to see what it takes to truly love someone scars and all the scars we can see, as in 50 Shades,and in this series the scars we cant. Yes, he's controlling but keep reading. it's explained. these is HOT. I did get a bit pissed at Ava. She runs instead of communicating her fears. by the third book you love Jesse. Need I say more? I liked it enough to give it a five stars. The first one that I gave in a very long time. But that doesn't mean everything went flawless. This Man is not spotless. It has its weak links and there are moments where the characters are downright ridiculous that it made me want to jump in the book and slap them both. However, there are also moments where I felt how distressed the narrator over what feelings have transpired within her but she can't speak it out loud not when she's in front of the person evoking those feelings because that might require her full submission which she could not find herself giving. Not yet anyway and not with a man as volatile as THAT Man. I kind of understand Ava's sentiments. I've read far a lot pf romance books that goes on the same path as this man and have set my eyes on quite a handful if relationships that resembles what Ava and the man has (or had, depends on the second book). Having that said, I am not clueless as Ava about the 'revelation' at the end. Maybe she's just too busy thinking about the worst thing that could happen that it made her blind of what is conspicuously in front of her. The man sure can contend with smutty Christian Grey and even Mr. Crossfire. The control domineering kinky stuff becomes him. Haha. I wonder how will thing work out between the two of them. I just wish the drama should be handled with much cautiousness so that I won't have to deal with a throbbing headache!
This was the first adult book that I have ever read- I was NOT disappointed. This book was amazing and I couldn't put it down. I almost forgot to eat one day. With that being said, I think that the plot twist in the end took me by surprise but when I told my mom she said that it was the same as a lot of other books like this. The events that happen are not just the only thing that is great. This author KNOWS how to write, what the readers need and doesn't leave you hanging at the end of the series. This is another book that if they wrote about their life after the end of the third book (book four about their life, growing old) I would be the first person in line. This series blindsides you until the last page, it made my cry, laugh, smile, I experienced every emotion with this book and the ones after. I would DEFINATLY recommend this book to somebody.
