تنويه: قيمتها بثلاث نجمات فقط.. لأن ابداع فكرة الرواية أحيله لماركيز ومسرحيته "خطبة لاذعة ضد رجل جالس"رحيمي مرة أخرى.. يختزل المكان إلى غرفة ضيّقة واحدة فقط، التي بدورها تختزل مأساة وطن بأكمله.. وطن في غيبوبة تماماً سينفجر يوماً ما.. كان ذلك في روايته (حجر الصبر) الحائزة على جائزة غونكور الفرنسية 2008وإن أحببت مكانية واشتغال عتيق رحيمي على المكان حيث يعمل على إستفزاز بقعة جافة مثل الطريق المؤدية إلى منجم للفحم كما في روايته “أرض ورماد” لتفجر لنا رواية مليئة بالمأساة والمعاناة الأفغانية.. هذه المرة أعجبت بهذا الاختزال المكاني إلى غرفة ضيقة وتحويل السرد إلى أشبه بمونولوج طويل ميلودرامي على طرف لسان الزوجة الأفغانية، ولكن المشكلة عندي في غابرييل غارسيا ماركيز، وبالتحديد في مسرحيته التي كتبها في 1928 “خطبة لاذعة ضد رجل جالس”، حيث غارسييلا الزوجة تلقي بمونولوج درامي طويل وشتائم متواصلة ضد زوجها الصامت والجالس على كرسيّه يقرأ الجريدة، وبذلك تنفض غارسييلا في زوجها كل المرارات التي تجمعت عندها طوال هذه السنين، والأخير لا ينطق بأي حرف.. وهذا بالتحديد وبالضبط ما قدمه رحيمي في روايته “حجر الصبر”إلى جانب هذا التطابق بين فكرة ماركيز ورحيمي، أجد أن مستوى الحكمة التي زجها رحيمي في لسان إمرأة أفغانية أمية، لا تستطيع الكتابة ولا القراءة إلا القليل، هو أمر كسر من واقعية ومصداقية الحالة، فكم هائل من الحكم والآراء المتحررة التي كانت تسردها المرأة قد يعجز عنه فلاسفة ومفكريين، لكننا نجدها تتحدث بها وكأنه حديثها اليومي والمعتاد While I will recommend you read this just for the experience (and also because I'd like to hear your thoughts on it) I will suggest you read it not during a time you are feeling under emotional duress.This is an excellent education on what it is like to live the day to day life of a middle eastern woman. Where your value is decided by others and how that works in a marriage where communication is pretty much one sided. At least it is in this story.Can you even begin to imagine marrying someone you don't know, have never met? Being the balance of a bad debt? Even after years of marriage, nothing changes except the woman on the inside. Ever steady on the outside but falling deeper and deeper into themselves...this whole book. So incredibly sad.Heartbreaking, kind of sad.The end of the story did not surprise me. But I wonder, if the only time it was safe to tell your husband/wife/partner about your inmost secrets, was when they couldn't strike back, talk back...what would you choose to share?Our Higher Power, call It what you may, did not put us on this earth to treat each other like this, nor to be treated like this.
