"The thing about the Hueys is that they were all the same."What happens when one Huey decides to dress differently? Rupert defies the "group think" and begins to wear a sweater. Though some of the Hueys are horrified, he finds support from others. That support leads to acceptance from the larger group. "Being different was catching on ... and the others wanted to be different, too."A simple book about an individual who thinks outside the box. Love it. 3.5This is a solid book about belonging for especially young readers. As the cover shows, a Huey gets a new sweater, and is all alone. As you might surmise, soon others begin to appreciate the pop of color in their lives. To me, Jeffers is one of the greats in the new generation of children's books. New Sweater does not let you down, although I probably won't be buying it in the near future. A good book with simple art ans a well crafted message.Recommend.
