It's a really simple and cute book, yet it has a very important message. It talks about the wonders of being unique in a surrounding of plain and same. One day Rupert the huey decided to defy the regular habits of the world of hueys, by being different, and unique. He walks around with his bright orange jumper that he knitted and was proud. Everyone else is a little bothered by his jumper. Find out what happens to Rupert by reading the book! All the Hueys are the same. Until Rupert makes himself a new sweater and wears it. Suddenly, the Hueys are not all the same! Being different from everyone else is something we all struggle with at some time in our lives. This book deals with the idea with aplomb and is hilarious to boot.The text is accompanied by Oliver Jeffers usual quirky illustrations that tell an entire story in just a few pencil lines.Super fun, but both long and on the small side, so would probably be better to read one on one than to a group.
Funny story about being unique, and, as usual, brilliantly illustrated. Bravo, once again, Jeffers!
