I've read all of W.Bruce Cameron's books. My favorite is A Dog's Purpose & A Dog's Journey. I enjoyed reading this book too! I'm a dog lover & enjoyed reading about Josh developing a love for dogs. I enjoyed reading about the litter of pups & each of their personalities. I cried several times at the end. I don't know if I could have done what Josh did; except maybe with Lola. Lol I fell in love with Lucy and her adopted litter of pups. This is a light read that warms the heart. I recommend it! This book was titled "a dog for Christmas" in my country and I picked it up for a Christmas read. Easy to read, the author has a way with descriptions and can describe dog behaviours perfectly. Good for some light holiday reading with a predictable end. I found the character of Josh quite weak, however the puppy characters made up for Josh's lack of substance. Worth it if you need a relaxing book for the holidays
