I am a fan of Ella James's writing. I recently finished reading the first book in her Hansel series, which I really enjoyed. I decided to pick this book up next because I like to read multiple books by the same author, especially if I like their writing style.I wanted so bad to like this book. I really did. Personally, when I am reading a book, I give it to the 25% mark. If I am not into it, I set it to the side and might pick it up at a later date.I do not know what it was, but I could not get into this story, which is even odder because I have read stories that are similar to this one. (i.e. A Million Dirty Secrets by C.L. Parker & Filthy Beautiful Lies by Kendall Ryan)I was good with Elizabeth's POV, but I struggled with Hunter's POV. Ultimately, I think Hunter's parts are what made getting into the story such a problem for me.I'm going to place this book in my Did Not Finish/Try Again Later pile. It had so much promise. There was just too much going on and the writing style detracted from the storyline. Writing in the first person can be a challenge, but when you attempt to tell a complicated story from the perspective of two different characters the challenge becomes unwieldy and the reader is distanced from the narrative. I'd like to see this streamlined, and written in the third person to help integrate the characters.
