"Risky Shot" is the second in the "Bluegrass" series by Kathleen Brooks and picks up where "Bluegrass State of Mind" left off. This book is focused on Danielle De Luca, Kenna Mason's best friend and former paralegal, and Mohtadi Ali Rahmen (aka Mo), sheikh and horse owner. I had to suspend my disbelief in order to appreciate this book because the love story between Danielle and Mo seemed to be in hyper drive from the very beginning. Still, I'm not entirely sure if the chemistry between the two plus the other stuff (i.e. Mo AND his father being friends with Danielle's father). It felt as if it was too neatly wrapped up in shiny paper with a big red bow on it. O.oThe thing is, there's just something about the people of Keeneston that make you want to continue the story. If you can get over the editing issues (and there were a lot of them) and a cliffhanger ending, this is a pretty good story. At least it wasn't as long as the first one. Hehe.Three stars for "Risky Shot" but I wouldn't have given an extra star for the nosy but memorable people of Keeneston alone. Hahaha! ^.^ Enjoyable. This book I found more enjoyable than Bluegrass State of Mind.I liked Danni's story much more than McKenna's. I found myself upset that it did appear that everyone had moved on, McKenna had a great life and Danni meanwhile was trying her hardest to survive and bring the people to justice that were hunting her and McKenna.My only complaint was that it didn't allow me to spend more time with these characters.
