This book was INCREDIBLE! Have you ever wondered what happened to Wendy and her brothers when they returned home from their adventures in Neverland with Peter Pan? No? Neither did I, until this book! When Wendy and her little brothers come home, their parents are distraught- they had been missing for days! Convinced that their tales of crocodiles and pirates and lost boys and fairies were simply a coping mechanism to deal with the abuse that they suffered at the hands of their kidnappers, the children were forced to endure therapy, bullying in school, and eventually medication to stop them from pretending. This book follows the story of Wendy and her brothers, Peter Pan and Tink, Captain Hook, and the rest of the Neverland Crew. Filled with suspense, fiesty characters, creativity, romance, and adventure, this book definately earned a five star review! LOVED it! Nicely done retelling of the class tale. Wendy has almost grown up at 17. Peter is out of Neverland and driving a Harley (or a motorcycle, at any rate). Heather does a good job turning some of the expected characters into unexpected characters in a modern setting. Looking forward to reading more in future sequels. (What's going on with Tiger Lily, for example, who makes brief appearances in the narrative.)
