About book Les Rois, Tome 2 : Le Roi Fantôme (2000)
4 1/2 Stars. I have to hand it to the author, this book was greatly improved over the first. There is still a bit of weed wadding, as she introduces her main characters and worldbuilds towards the beginning, but it's not mind numbingly long like the first. This must also be some sort of spin-off, with all the random references to previous story-lines that have yet to be covered or introduced. Annoying yes, but not completely unforgivable. The romance in this book, was one of the most hastened I think I've ever read. Still somewhat believable, if you don't put too much thought into. Overall, a really good effort that kept my interest throughout. I look forward to more. What do I love about this author? She surprises me in every single one of her books! Her ability to create couples with so much chemistry time and time again is amazing and loads of fun to read. The dynamics of Thane and Siobhan are hot, steamy and complicated. The relationships and connections of all of the characters beginning with the BWW series and now into the 13 Kings is layered, well thought out and like visiting comfortable (albeit paranormal) old friends.HIGHLY recommend and cannot wait to delve into The Warlock King:)
