This was a cute story that was based on Emma by Jane Austen. It was fun matching up the characters in this book who were similar to the characters in Jane Austen's Emma. My complaint about this book is that it annoys me when high school girls keep talking about being in love. I understand that some people do get married who were high school sweethearts, but that doesn't happen all that often, and I doubt that too many high schoolers actually fall in love. It was usually asked, "Are you in love with so and so?" Rather than, "Do you like so and so?" which would've made more sense to me, since most of the people were still in high school. I love jane Austen's Emma. And I love re-writes of classic stories. Had this one not been so similar to the 90's movie Clueless, I would probably have given it more stars. But I had a hard time not envisioning Emmalee as Claire from Clueless. Especially as she responded "As if..." At one point in the story. So...cute re-telling of Austen's Emma. Especially if you missed the movie Clueless.
