I would give this no stars if I could. I'm stunned I actually kept reading it to the end.50% flashbacks/stories that have almost nothing to do with the book. (That doesn't mean that they're all pointless, some of them do add to the book)50% annoying dialogue5% middle school drama/romance10% underdeveloped, annoying boring characters that made me want to smash my head into a cement wall repeatedly1% unsatisfying plotBy far one of the worst books I've ever, ever read. Who told Susan Colasanti she could write? My conclusion is..You would like this book, if you're 12. "Something Like Fate" by Sunane Colasanti is a heart wrenching book that kept me on my feet the whole entire time. The theme of this book is that you cant mess with fate. Things happen for a reason whether its for good or for bad, but in the end you'll be happy and that's what this book showed, You may have your ups and downs but in the end everything will be okay. That's why I loved how the author went about writing this book because it was so similar to everyday life. The characters in this book remind me of my own friends. One that's a little into herself and another one that's so focused on school and never has really been "in love" before, but yet still tend to be best friends. This book compares to the everyday life of high school drama. If I close my eyes and think of the setting it would come to be immediately. Lani, one who is so focused and Erin and out going person who is friends with everyone are best friends, they couldn't be more different. Then Lani meets Jason, who recently started dating Erin. Lani realizes that her and Jason have so much in common it’s like they’re perfectly joined together and they fall for each other quickly. When Erin finds out that her and Jason started dating after he broke up with her, Erin tries making there life a living hell. You really cant ever give up someone you truly love whether it hurts others or not, that why I loved this book so much because it shows that even when your down there always a way to get back up.
