A good endocrine disruptors for dummies type book. But instead of just scaring and frustrating you with the amount of garbage in food and the environment, the book gives you solutions for minimizing the impact of endocrine disruptors. I became very informed on how hormones work, and the resources in the back gave me numerous books and websites for continuing my research. The only reason I gave the book four stars is because I feel JM spends a bit too much time pointing out how much of an expert she is. This book is full of information. It focuses specifically on hormone imbalance and how to correct it. Most importantly, Jillian (aside from dietary supplements) tells you that you can fix your body based on WHAT YOU EAT. Food can heal you, if you eat the correct types of food. One tiny con is that, while there is a lot of insightful information, the first sections are quite hard to swallow or at least to remember. She writes out different hormones, how they impact the metabolism, and how they get out of whack, but I've found myself just skipping to the end of each section, where she sums up the main points. Recommended for anyone looking for some tips for weight loss. Yes, some of what she's asking for could be hard to get (i.e. going all organic - is something really organic just because the label says so? Also, organic foods tend to be a bit more expensive than the cheaper, less healthier versions), but the important thing is just to learn from she's telling us and adapt it to your lifestyle. I don't follow Jillian's plan exactly, but I have implemented some of her guidelines, like cutting out processed foods and shifting my plastic containers to glass ones.
