Do You like book De 100-jarige Man Die Uit Het Raam Klom En Verdween (2000)?
I've got a lot of mixed feelings about this novel. On one hand Jonasson manages to write a story that's full of charm but then there are lots of little tics which bothered me.My main gripe is that there are way too many coincidences. I know I am reading a work of fiction but the fact that all the main characters are saved by an act of coincidence just made the book unrealistic. Plus after a while all the characters got on my nerves, not to mention the long drawn out 'confession'There are some good points. I enjoyed reading the historical bits- especially the North Korea sections and the book is wrapped up quite well. Saying that this is definitely one book I may not return to.

Membaca buku ini memang butuh perjuangan banget, selain tebel, buku ini juga menceritakan pengalaman seorang kakek yang menurut saya absurd banget. Akan tetapi justri dari ke-absurd-annya ini yang membuat humor yang sedikit berbeda. Jadi kalau biasanya kita bisa ngakan atau al least senyum, baca buku ini senyumnya kecut gimana gitu. Habis isinya penuh sindiran apalagi pas bagian yang nyindir Indonesia...rrr...antara rela gak rela tanah air tercinta dikatain begitu :D
