About book Conejo De Pascua Y Su Ejército En El Centro De La Tierra (2012)
I have the same complaint as last time: not a fan of the way it's written. The author narrates the events, which on the one hand results in e book being very easy to read, but on the other hand makes most of those scenes pretty hollow. I never really felt immersed in this world. But I still really like the idea of these characters coming together. And I like how they got rid of Pitch this time. My big complaint is that this book has fewer illustrations than the last one. This is the second book in the Guardian series. Here we meet a chocolate loving Pooka, who helps our heroes to Earth's core to once again defeat Pitch and his Fearlings. The writing style is very much the same. Little character development, but enough action to keep you reading. I would have liked more focus to be on E. Aster Bunnymond. In fact I thought these books were all about the backgrounds of the individual Guardians, not one cohesive narrative. The Pooka was more of a secondary minor character compared to North. The title of the book is quite misleading in this sense - it's hardly about the bunny, as it takes a good chunk of pages just to get to him! I can only hope there's more info on the Pooka in Book 3.As a little conclusion, I could do without the flashbacks in the first quarter of the book. Save the quick summary of the first book's events for the book jacket, and leave those pages open to the main crux of the story!
