I openly admit I've not read the rest of this series. Saw this at the library and it sparked my fancy. But after having read this book I won't read the rest. I don't feel that I need to. I never felt lost in the story since there was a massive amount of back story. I feel that if I had read the rest that this book would have been irritating. I liked the story, but there just wasn't enough of the Michael and Taylor (andromeda/Andy) story. This was a great stand alone. Nothing was left unfinished. Meljean Brook is one of my favorite authors and I have absolutely loved each and every one of her books. That being said, I didn't like this one quite as much as the previous books. This book was really long - almost 600 pages and I feel it could have been shorter. It did not hold my interest as much as the prior books and I did find myself bored at times. Still I did enjoy it. The writing is fantastic as always, with rich and colorful characters. I've been waiting a long time for Michael's book and I would not have missed this one for the world! I felt like I was back among friends :)
Enjoyed the action portion of this book . . . the romance part dragged on at times.
