This book didn't really do it for me - I'd give it 2-1/2 stars. Sofia is in lust with a local gynecologist, Daniel Fletcher, who shops at the same market as she does. Her friend dares her to set up an appointment for an exam. Twice she goes to the appointment and both times they are interrupted - first Sofia freaks out, and then Daniel has an emergency. Then it turns out he lives a few houses away from her. Apparently Daniel is messed up due to abuse when he was a kid. He's got some sort of perverse sexual needs that aren't really ever explained, and he mines for partners among his patients. Sofia doesn't meet his usual criteria, but he can't stay away from her. They are back and forth and it all is confusing and tedious. The two just didn't seem to match - he is supposedly dark, brooding, broken, and Sofia is kind-of a goof. The book ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger, fyi. Not exactly what I expected, but it was free at Amazon so I thought I'd give it a try. The editing needed some work. The first part of the story cracked me up. The idea of Sofie crushing on her gyno was kind of funny and her itch relief scene made me laugh. I thought oh wow, this book just may pull through. However, about midway through, I began questioning everything. What started out as a fun and light hearted read quickly became angsty and annoying. Sorry, but I don't think I'll recommend. The writer shows promise and I would be willing to give a 2nd chance on something new.
Do You like book Broken Desires (2000)?
A little over the top, but very enjoyable in parts.
