I nearly gave up on this book what with the twin annoyances of "I love the word _____" and the "My data is complete." As a matter of fact, while I was reading the obligatory 15% that I force myself to read before chucking a book out of my e-reader, I was busy thinking about the scathing review I was going to give this.Uh-oh. At about 12% it all fell apart. The "My data is complete" became funny, loving certain words became natural, and I realized just how good Craig Lancaster is. How good is Craig Lancaster? Really good, that's how good! I loved this book. Edward who is "developmentally disabled, but not stupid" and is actually quite intelligent, is such a wonderful character. He lives on his own and has routines that keep him grounded, parents who support him (the father is a controller!), and a therapist who teaches him how to cope with the difficulties of life among the "normal". When new neighbors arrive across the street, Edward is confronted with some changes that challenge him in new ways. Highly recommended!
