"Everything had a presence. Even small things. Even things you took for granted."Waking Kate is a short teaser for Lost Lake, that talks of a moment in time that will change everything in 20 pages."She wasn't sure exactly when it happened, when she had realized that she could only make one of them happy. She only knew that she had chosen him."Kate is stuck in a marriage she knows is bad for her; when she meets her old neighbor who is moving away on the same day they've met, he tells her his story and encourages her to wake up."Something had changed, though it wasn't quite clear to her what it was yet."Now I can't wait to start reading Lost Lake. While most of my friends rated this 5 stars I am new to this author this having been my first read this was just too short for me to star it more. There wasn't time for earth shattering but I do see promise and among other books I'm reading lost lake with one of my groups this month. I expect to be able to rate that quite a bit higher but I wouldn't look at this as a bad rating; I just couldn't even rate like 25 pages or so (my edition was 32 pages with a preview of LL) at 3 even tho I rate based on what's there....it was sweet but idk I just don't feel it merits more. Apologies to fans and like I said from all my friends that love her books I am hoping to rate the full books which I nabbed a bunch of not long ago (based on friend reviews n raves) higher.
short sneak into the next book. good sample, looking forward to lost lake
