Lia Houston lived in the mountains of Arkansas with her mother and grandmother. The town treated them like trash but they shared loved as a family. But now she lives alone writing songs. Scott Walker is a surgeon from Austin who had proposed and was turned down. So he heads to a cabin in Arkansas for a week alone but is caught in a snow storm. There us a number for emergencies since he arrives a day early. No food, no heat. That is when Lia comes to the rescue but now the storm hits and a tree fell on Lia's truck so they can't leave. Looks like they are struck with each other. But she is so different from the other women that Scott has known. Loved it!!! This story covered almost every emotion for mankind! I started out really not liking Scott. He was superficial, egotistical and a playboy...three strikes! But then he had the audacity to turn out to be a God-fearing, compassionate and empathetic person. Imagine that, a doctor who cares! I liked Lia's wit and humor from the start. I love when a good girl gets rewarded with her prince!!!! 4.5 stars. You go Sable! This one melted my heart and I really don't do romance!! However I was challenged to read mostly romance books for this year's Goodreads Reading Challenge. This one made it easy.
This was my first Sable Hunter story. I loved it. I will read more.
