Book 2 of this series was more compelling than book 1!! In book 1 I thought Candace got a sweet deal and was glad she took it. After all, she would be living in the lap of luxury and wasn't expected to do anything other than look good. In book 2 reality sets in and I started to regret her taking the deal. Candace starts to have questions about Nathan's plans and they raise a lot of suspicions. Lots of unforeseen turns in this book!! Candy is transformed into Jessica, the perfect rich, suburban wife. The relationship between Nathan and Jessica is cold and purely sexual. I like the hint of vualnerabily in Candy where her father is concerned, made her a more complex character. Candy's emotions are all over the place, she's scared, aroused, and lonely. I found it believable and was glad the tension and mystery carried over from volume 1.
Do You like book To Hold (2000)?
I hated the plot, totally different outcome. The guy is an asshole and the main character is stupid.
