This is my first Shayla Black read. I follow her on Facebook and when I saw the name of the sixth book, Their Virgin Secretary, I was intrigued. A follower asked Shayla if we had to read all the book in the series to follow, The Virgin Secretary and she mention, you would enjoy it more if you read, Their Virgin Hostage first. So, I decided to pick it up.I like the story but I didn't love the story. Kinley was a naïve woman, who let her family dictate her life, this finds her in the predicament she in, about to marry a man to save her family that she ha no interest in. I have been reading these books out of order just depending on which storylines seemed most interesting to me. I picked this one because I thought it would have all the tropes I love in these kinds of books. And it did. I don't know. The story was just very, very thin. The characters were not very fleshed out. I was more interested in Kinley's friend, who I know is starring in the next book, and her guys. Kinley and her guys were just pretty bland, and the sex wasn't so steamy either. I don't know.This one just wasn't my favorite. Still going to read the next one, though.
