About book The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite (2009)
Very good. Creative. Messy. Not life-altering. If I had a stack of them, I'd keep reading.I like origin stories, and this was a condensed origin story based primarily in a time after the heroes have fallen. We are called upon to accept all the former glories as glorious, and placed into a story about their angst after the good times have passed. It would be far more powerful for me to see these characters begin at the beginning. The amazing comic book written by Gerard Way. We all know what betrayal is like..Harsh, rage fulfilling, jealousy .. and so many other things. Out of 43 children that were born, only 7 were adopted by Reginald Hargreeves to save the world. These kids had amazing powers to destroy what was infront of them to save what was behind it. Of course in every family there is always that .. "outcast" memeber. Just like every adolescent, she grew up on her own.But that's the kicker, the remaining 6 had to do the unthinkable.Go against family to save the world. The rest is yours to read, but I highly recommend it.Looking forward to reading The Umbrella Academy Vol 2. Dallas.
