About book The Pigman (2015)

The book “the pigman” is written by the author Paul Zindel, it’s about three people who form a friendship that they would never forget. John, Lorraine and Mr. Angelo pignati also known as the pigman, the book is a very interesting read like how the chapters are shared between john and Lorraine which makes it exciting to see the next one, to see their point of view. There are a lot of different emotions through out the book there is a lot of sadness in some of the charters which keeps you intrigued to see what happens next in the book and keeps you wanting to read on.John is a very interesting charter he never really had a real role model until he met Mr. Pignati, which could be the cause for johns immaturity in early stages in the book, like his nick name ‘the bathroom bomber’ that he got because he set firecrackers off in the boys toilets, and his immaturity reflected on the people he hung around with like Norton the thief, even he had a nick name form being immature and steeling marshmallows and got caught, that’s why he got called the marshmallow kid. Then after he John and Lorraine became friends with the pigman, he started to mature and care about things like you could tell he was sad that his dad wasn’t around much he would work most of the day, but then when he was home he would just be telling John off and telling him what he should do with his life, that’s why the pigman was such a big part in Johns life, he wanted John to be happy and be an individual until Mr. Angelo pignati died not long after he returned from hospital to find john and Lorraine having a party in his house, and his pig collection ruined and his dearest wife’s dress ruined, john only realized what he had done until after the ordeal, john was so remorseful for what he had done you could feel the sadness in his words, then after the passing of the pigman john couldn’t believe he had lost his friend, you could feel the sadness that he was feeling through the book.Everything affected Lorraine just as much, although she never wanted to have a party but john always talks Lorraine into stuff she doesn’t want to do, Lorraine is good hearted but doesn’t have a lot of freedom, because her mother is a single mother that has trust issues, she doesn’t trust her daughter anywhere near men, which is caused by her past issues and she is stopping he daughter from living her own life and making he own mistakes. This is why when Lorraine was with Mr. Pignati she got to be her own person, relax, be loud and drink alcohol. Throughout the story Lorraine had more guilt for Mr. Pignati, buying them all the stuff that they were getting and even right from the start john convinced Lorraine to go with him to collect the donation from Mr. Pignati for their fake charity, I think that Lorraine shares the same sadness towards her actions as John feels, Lorraine’s words connect to her feelings in the book you can tell that she is sad for what she has done to Mr. Pignati and will find it hard to get rid of her sadness.Mr. Pignati a nice, kind, trusting and trustworthy man he has all the right values you could want in a person. When John and Lorraine became friends with him right from the start he wanted them to stay around and relax and feel at home in his house, john and Lorraine though it was creepy to begin with but after getting to know Mr. Pignati they seen what type of man they were with. Mr. Pignati’s only friend before John and Lorraine was a baboon by the name of Bobo I don’t think anyone could have had a connection as strong as they did, you could even say that when Bobo died it took away what remained of Mr. Pignati. Mr. Pignati wasn’t alone his hole life his dearest wife Conchetta Pignati was the love of his life, they were each others everything, he even brought her the first big out of their collecting before they got married, it was a joke towards his last name Pignati. So I think when she passed away all he had left was Bobo and all of there things like thing pig collection and her belongings. Then when Mr. Pignati when to hospital a lot of what was left got broken, like Norton tried steeling Mr. Pignati’s property and smashed some pigs and John and Lorraine’s friendship between Mr. Pignati broke because the trust was lost when they had a party in his house, so by this time all he had left was Bobo so when john and Lorraine finally convinced Mr. pignati to meet at the zoo to visit Bobo, but when they arrived he wasn’t there then that’s when Mr. Pignati dropped, he had died he had nothing left other then the sadness inside him. I think anyone that is looking for an interesting and a very good read should take the time to read “The Pigman” the book has many different emotions between the characters which keeps you reading. But some people may not enjoy some of the drama that goes on which could be a good reason not to read the book if you’re the type of person who would enjoy such a book, there are some parts in the story where a section may drag on which could make you decide if you really want to read on or to but over all it’s a very good read and I personally enjoyed the book and would recommend it.by. Guilt is a big part of life; everyone experiences guilt through life, whether it is a big feeling of guilt or even just that little bit. Everyone has to make mistakes through life which you will regret and even feel guilty about but that’s life no one is perfect you learn from your mistakes. Paul Zindel is the author of the book The Pigman. The impression I got off this book is that it is written because of guilt. John and Lorraine who are the two main characters of the book are writing this in a “memorial epic” of the character the “Pigman”, who in the book a lonely old man who gets pranked called by the two school kids Lorraine and john who lie to him. That’s how things start. Lorraine and john took the ten dollars from the old kind man “The Pigman”. This is the first act of guilt that occurs in the book. John and Lorraine prank call this old man that happens to be Mr Pignati. They lie to him and try and make convocation because the aim of the game is to see how long they can last talking to a complete stranger. Lorrain says that she is a charity worker so that’s how Mr Pignati gives them the ten dollars. After john and Lorraine take the money the first place they go is to the shops to spend the money. Lorraine is the one that feels the guiltiest out of the two. She thinks that’s it a bad idea of taking the money from the elderly old man that properly needs the money more then they do and then spending at the shop. John also had the feeling of guilt that’s why they decide to take the old mans offer and go to the zoo with him in replace of the ten dollars. The feeling of guilt occurs when they lie to the old man and take his money. They feel this way because they did the wrong thing and they don’t do anything to make the situation better except take the offer. Chapter 13 is another part of the book where the expression of guilt is expressed. In this chapter Mr Pignati is in hospital from a heart attack which occurred earlier in the book and john and Lorraine decide to have some friends over for a few drinks. The night starts off good but as the night goes on its starts to get out of control. There friend Norton shows up which turns everything upside down. Norton trashes everything and causes trouble when he shows up. The night ends up when Mr Pignati comes home and walks in on the party to find that his house had been trashed. John and Lorraine get put into the back of the police car when they show up. When Lorraine gets home she has a fight with her mother then goes to her room. That’s when she started to feel the guilt of how they trashed the house. That they should of never had that party. They wanted to make things better so that they don’t have that guilty feeling of what they did. His dead, Mr Pignati is dead. This occurs is the end of the book. Lorraine and john decide to take the elderly man to the zoo to see his friend the baboon which is named Bobo. They thought that if he sees bobo it might make him feel better and forget or forgive them for what they had done to the house. So they decide to meet at the front of the zoo. When they first saw him he was not the same he looked really drawn and sick. He was not the same as the first time that they went. When they went to see bobo at his catchment he was not there, they asked where he was and they said that he had passed away, that’s when Mr Pignati had collapsed after a long pause after the zoo guard had told him about bobo. John and Lorraine could not believe what had happened. This would be the biggest part of the book where the theme of guilt is exposed. There is nothing that they could do to try and fix this. They can’t make things better. John and Lorraine regret everything, they wonder whether if they hadn’t met him that he still would of had that heart attack and died. They now regret it of taking him to the zoo. They feel completely guilty of what they had done and they can’t do anything about it. They are responsible for creating the problem and the situation. That’s why they wrote this book; to get it off their mind and to try to make them feel better. The Pigman is a good book and decent book to read. Its interesting and exciting about what is going to happen next and how the story ends. I think that you have to be age appropriate to read it or other wise it wont interest you: maybe your teenage years. The ending of the book is interesting of how he does pass away you wonder weather he had the heart attack over Bobo , or weather is was too much stress, or even it was just an accident if tit was just meant to happen and nothing could stop it. I recommend this book as an interesting and good book to read for the younger generation.

Do You like book The Pigman (2015)?

I wanted to like this book because it came in Kalman's bookbox, but I really thought it was obnoxious. Two teenagers, a boy and a girl, are friends and have been for years. They both don't like their homes or their parents, are disrespectful and disobedient; such things as calling parents names like "bore" and "my old lady", cutting school, drinking, prank calls, lying about plans and whereabouts, property damage like bombing toilets and having large parties in people's houses without their permission. I mean their behavior is appalling, there is nothing meritorious in the so-called teenage behavior they are involved with. Teens do not have to behave in an amateur criminal fashion. The results of their actions in this book are tragic. And I'm sorry, but an old guy who can't recognize teens on a scam when he sees them, who serves said teens wine!!!??? The kids were awful and the old guy was maybe suffering from dementia. Not a good book in my opinion.

In my mind The Pigman has always suffered from being one of the dreaded "school books". You know the type; The almost patronizingly short, incredibly dull and soon forgotten piece of drivel that stands in the way of the books you actually WANT TO READ this summer. But I will say this for it, I have at least one incredibly clear impression of this book. You see in my high school this book was freshman summer reading. And as I sat down to read my first ever piece of high school curriculum all I could think was, whose bright idea was this? After two hours of reading, a good ten minutes of pointless quizzing, only one thing stuck out in my mind. And that was the fact that the very first paragraph, on the very first page, of the very first book I ever read in high school taught me how to blow up a urinal and frame the local stoner for it. Yes you heard me right. Someone at my high school decided that the first lesson they wanted to teach the incoming freshman should be how to get away with vandalizing the school bathroom. Even as a kid I realized what a monumentally horrible decision that was. And now every time I look at this book all I can remember is my reaction to it. I know this was supposed to be one of those books that teaches you about compassion, and taking responsibility for your actions, but to be quite honest all I can remember learning is how to throw cherry bombs down a toilet, and that is just a shame.
