the book The Dragon Heir was a great book. i liked how it really wrapped up an epic series with lots of action and drama. it was amazing how it really changed your ideas on the whole world of magic and how it started. it really went in depth of how the characters react to a situation of death to those you love. it started off with a way of questioning your belief of the beginning of the weir. through the book, things turn from bad to worse and new shifty alliances are formed. you start to question the characters morals, and the secrets they hide inside themselves. this book really wrapped up this series pretty nicely if i do say so myself. I'm so glad my boyfriend got me into this series. Chima writes with a style that attracts both young male and female readers, a feat not accomplished by many female writers. The characters she has created are realistic and wholesome, I found myself fond of each one. There are a couple things I wish had been different in this novel though. First, a clarification of whether Linda and Hastings are back together as a couple or simply just travelling together and being together for the sake of Seph. They are a wonderful pairing and good for each other, I do hope they actually are back together. Secondly, I would have liked more about Ellen and Jack, especially after Ellen almost died, it would have been nice to hear more about her recovery than "she was a bad patient but got better." The conclusion to the original Heir series tied up loose ends though and was a satisfying ending to a series that draws readers into the intoxicating world of the Weir. A very unique storyline and mythology is a fresh and welcomed aspect to the world of YA fiction. Chima also left this open to a follow-up series, as shown by the last paragraph. I have not yet read The Enchanter Heir and am excited to see where she takes her wonderful world next.
