About book The Case Of The Case Of Mistaken Identity (2009)

Twelve-year-old Steve Brixton, like so many 12-year-olds, has a passion. His happens to be the Bailey Brothers detective novels. He has read every single one in the series at least once. He longs to be a dective himself. He's not to bad when it comes to solving riddles and small crimes. For example, when his mother's boyfriend, the police detective, is having trouble figuring out who stole an old lady's jewelry out of her house with no forced entry, Steve is able to deduce that it was a crow. Just from listening to what the detective told him about the case. Spectacular!Steve is also a normal kid who goes to school and has research projects assigned by tricky teachers. On this particular Friday, Steve's teacher, Ms. Gilfeather, assigns a report that is due the following Monday. She is assigning the topics by having her students reach into a hat and pulling out a slip of paper with a topic on it. Steve's friend Dana chooses detectives. Steve is frustrated when he finds himself saddled with the topic of American Needlework. What does he know about American Needlework? He should've gotten detectives! Oh, well. Off to the library. At the library the only book he is able to find causes a semi-national security incident when he tries to check it out. All of a sudden people assume he is a detective! And so the adventure begins!Fun, fast-paced stories that will be great for 5th-6th grade boys who are reluctant readers. i am reading the brixton this book would be good for people who like mystery and humor. my favorite part in this book is when stephen is at the library checking out a book and then all the power goes out then 6 people walk in with black suits on with guns. to now what happens next you have to read this book. stephen really likes a book series called the bailey brothers and every time he is in any type of situation he looks through his handbook to see what the baily brothers would do. stephen also really want to becaume a spy just like the brixton brothers solving serous casses finding people who robbed the banks and all kinds of other stuff. i really hope you read this book i defiantly give this book 5 stars.

Really fun, and funny, and works very well as a sendup of/response to the Hardy Boys.
