I think the worse thing that can happen when you read a book is to not care about the characters... and unfortunately that's exactly what happened when I read this story. What sucks the most is that it was actually a good story, good idea but everyone seemed...fake... if that's possible in a fiction. LOLI didn't care that the hero was cursed for 1500 years, or that the witch who cursed him was the great great grandmother of the woman who will become his soul mate and the one to break the curse. Nor did I care that the heroin had a sad lonely child. Searching for a father she thought was dead in hopes to get the love she never got from her mother. The fact that she turns out to be this MAJOR powerful witch who plays an important part not only to her hero's curse ending but to a huge battle that will save magic should have sparked the interest but alas it didn't.What's sad is you could see that it was a good story but like I said everyone seemed fake... I just couldn't get into them, they just didn't click for me... so on that I'm not sure I'll read any of the other books in the series... but knowing me, I probably will give it a second chance, maybe its one of those series that starts off bad but gets better as it goes on... heck I've had the reverse happen so you never know. Bok one in the Doomsday Brotheren Series. The book is worth the read for the sex scenes alone. The setting is present time England, but Marrok is an immortal from King Arthur's court. His immortality had been caused by a curse performed by Morgana after he made it known that he had only wanted her for sex. He had managed to steal her Doomsday diary book, hoping to find a solution to undo his curse. What he finds is a female who is a descendant of Morgana's many centuries later. Olivia does not know how powerful she can become. But she is aware that Marrok instills unfamiliar urges and feelings in her. Marrok cant seem to keep his hands off of her. During their first sexual encounter she recites words that form a marital bond to the person who answers it. Instinctively, Marrok answers her mating call. From here, both seem to be confused and wary of each other's purpose for mating with each other respectively. He believes she will eventually betray him and steal the book from him. She believes he mated with her as a means to an end. While they are fighting their lust for each other, an evil wizard is interested in Olivia and the book to further his cause to defeat all magic kind. Thus, the Doomsday brotheren form to protect the world the evil wizard and his minions. Marrok joins the forces to protect his love and the book. He sacrifices one for the other, ending his curse. It turns out, he was right about Olivia being the key to ending his curse.
