I wish I could give this 3.5 stars....I really liked it and couldn't put it down (read it in one day) because I was so curious about the accident, Garrett's reasons for leaving, etc. However....once again, this is a story of heartache and pain that could have been avoided with a conversation. I just don't understand the logic behind breaking someone's heart instead of having an open, honest conversation. It's not noble and it's not the "right thing to do." It drives me crazy. Reads like fanfiction. Misunderstandings, overly-angsty characters, drama, sappiness, and predictable "twists" abound. I tend to be a pessimist, but thought the main characters was stupidly stubborn/pessimistic; one quote she said nearly made me stop reading. I did actually finish the book though, so it gets one star just for that. I might've given two stars if it had given me some "warm fuzzies" - restoring faith in humanity/humans doing good - but it missed a lot of potential in that area, so one star it is.
