Wow, people here really dislike this book don't they. I just have to say--it wasn't THAT bad. I see where you're coming from, I felt the same way too at sometimes with the language and Beth and Richie's relationship, so this brushed the 4 star mark for me, didn't really fully deserve it. I also had problems reading it since I'm Catholic and the things they get into make me uncomfortable--like Tarot cards and such. But other than that, I think this book was something new. I loved reading it--it wasn't too hard, the language was comfortable and it's a good fun-read. It can get serious, but it can also be pretty silly, balancing out the two well enough to not be a great pain. I think the concept was what really drew me in--the whole ability to see dots and from them come our stories. And then there are the other women we meet throughout the book who have special abilities as well. It was a fine climax and I honestly wish there might be a sequel but I won't die if it left off where it did. Good ending, good idea, fun writing style, overall pleasure with the book--4 stars. I was super disappointed with this book. It seems really awesome and cool and looks amazing. Well, it's not. It's annoying, jumpy, and it's like Bendinger couldn't make up her mind about what she was writing.Her characters are described in one sense, then act completely opposite. So many things were trashy and fairly sex obsessed as well. The supernatural aspect to the plot was never explained fully and things just got all jumbled up and it was if the author expected you to know what was going on.I hated it even more because it felt like there were underlying awesome ideas and plots. But they were just made into crap rather than being made into something fantastic.A sequel is probably for sure, but it's probably not going to be on my to read list. :(
