Wow! Just... Wow. I was pulled into this novel hook, line & sinker. Finished it in 1 day because I couldn't put it down. Lila created characters that I became addicted to & invested in quickly. I was heartbroken for Havok because I've seen similar, although not to that extreme, play out in front of my own eyes. Children who don't want to leave their parent(s) even though their parent(s) are poor excuses for parental figures. Lila did a great job, in my mind, creating and showing that explanation for the reason they stay in the bad situation... Havok... oh lord, I loved her. I loved how she still had spunk and drive even though she was living a life of hell. She was such a beautiful young woman. Fade... sigh... Oh I loved him. What else can I say about him? He was just... sigh worthy. The plot! Holy wow! I was soooo not expecting the climax to play out like it did! I was taken off guard and totally surprised. I couldn't flip the pages fast enough. Overall - huge 5 Stars for me! I usually give a book a few chapters before I give up if I don't like it. This book had my attention from the very beginning. I loved how it was written, loved Havok's sarcastic remarks. And it was very refreshing to read about a guy who wasn't a tatted up bad boy who's slept with hundreds of girls. Don't get me wrong, one of my favorite characters in a book is a bad boy but it's nice to have a good guy help the troubled girl. Fade is so sweet and gives Havok what her mother stopped giving her long ago. Love. Great story with a very happy ending. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
