I really enjoyed this book. This would be a perfect beach read! It's juicy, romantic, and slightly scandalous. The story flips back and forth between 1931 (the past) and 1938 (the present). I have never read a book that transitioned so perfectly between the past and the present. Each new chapter in the past brought new understanding to the present, and vice versa. Set in the beautiful seaside community of Seaview, Rhode Island, this book was full of secrets, parties, drama, and even a devastating hurricane. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it was a little fluffy and predictable (but that's okay once in a while). I really like this author's story telling style and I didn't see where the story was going which I really love because most are so predictable. With that said, she included off color content that was way too over the top in a couple of scenes and being that off color wasn't necessary. She did need to develop the character but it was a bit much. I still give it 5 stars for the story and look forward to reading her other stuff.

Very enjoyable light read. Think Elin Hilderbrand with a historical fiction touch.

Beach book. Interesting plot, not crazy about the ending. It was fine.
