About book Ratoncito Se Viste (2011)

This a cute graphic novel for very early readers, probably for kindergartners first learning words. The mouse really wants to go to the barn but first he has to get ready first. In this story, the mama mouse asks the little mouse if he is ready and he was not. So he went on a mission to find clothes to go to the barn. By the time they arrived to the barn, mama laughs at the little mouse and tells him that mice do not where clothes.Smith's realistic illustrations focus on the process of a small child (mouse) dressing himself successfully. The exuberance and struggle to dress oneself is clearly portrayed. One thing I liked with the illustrations is that when the mouse was struggling with an article of clothing, the picture was zoomed in so the reader could learn how to do what the mouse was doing too. The words in the story were printed in a very clear, easy to read font that gives an appeal to early readers. This is a cute book on how to get dressed in the morning. This story goes frame by frame on how a child thinks while getting dressed. From the narration of the mouse announcing that he has one more button left to button, to the mouse remembering to put his tail through the tail hole in his underpants, this book motivates kids to want to start dressing themselves. One thing I liked with the illustrations is that when the mouse was struggling with an article of clothing, the picture was zoomed in so the reader could learn how to do what the mouse was doing too. The words in the story were printed in a very clear, easy to read font that gives an appeal to early readers. This graphic novel acts as a great book for children to memorize how to correctly get ready in the morning.
